Many businesses' graphic projects don't warrant a permanent, full-time graphic designer. You just need some help temporarily. Many businesses prefer to have a hands-on approach to graphic design. That is when I travel to them. I normally travel with my own computer equipment. The amount of equipment needed is determined by the client's availability of equipment. They find it is more efficient and are able to adapt and make immediate decisions on the changes that may arise when working on a graphics project. It is also a good way to keep up with the project's progress and time limits especially when paying an hourly rate.

The Art Dept has clients who pay by an hourly rate and some who pay by the job. I am willing to work either way depending on the logistics of the job.
